SkiWise Allowing Families To Flourish (AFTF) via Behavioral Health Treatment (BTX) Prenatal Parent Child Program, further known as SkiWise Moms.
SkiWise Moms will provide access to behavioral health treatment, counseling and supportive resource for pregnant members who experience mental health challenges and symptoms or have been diagnosed behavioral health needs during prenatal gestation (0-9 mos) up to 12 months after the end of pregnancy.
Individuals who participate in the SkiWise Moms Program will be provided preferential access to mental health treatment in support of prenatal and postpartum care, inclusive of integrated behavioral health treatment in partnership with case management and parenting education with emphasis on managing symptoms of Perinatal Mood Anxiety & Depression (PMAD) Disorder.
Perinatal Mental Health refers to the mental health concerns experienced by persons during pregnancy and in the first year postpartum.
The goals of the SkiWise Allowing Families To Flourish (AFTF) via Behavioral Health Treatment (BTX) Program are to support prenatal care, access to behavioral health treatment to achieve sustained recovery, receive ongoing support, and follow-up care for the individual and infant by a culturally relevant informed clinical team. Through these support and integrative processes, the SkiWise AFTF-BTX Prenatal Parent Child Program seeks to provide hope to parents and babies thereby setting a strong foundation to PMAD flourish and thrive.
