Support in the Moment through... for the Mind, Spirit & Soul for Frontline Worker in the helping profession.
This Skill Development Resource for Adults, Youth, Human Services & Faith Based Organizations and Frontline Workers teaches you how to identify, understand and respond to signs of behavioral health crisis, mental illness symptomology and substance use disorders, and early intervention skills. These trainings will give you the tools you need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing or experiencing a crisis by providing support in the moment and helping to connect them to appropriate care.
The training covers a discussion of behavioral health symptomology, with attention to culture and its relevance to the topic of mental health. A discussion of the specific risk factors faced by persons, members or their families such as mental and psychological trauma response, distress, suicidality, etc. Emphasis will be given on how to break down the stigma associated with mental illnesses like anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and more through a supportive stance. And strategies will be explored on how to reach out to those who suffer in silence, and are reluctant to seek help while supporting their values, beliefs and cultural practices. Lastly we will cover how to link members to community resources, information and support that preserves their sense of dignity and respect.
